Okay...now that we got rid of all the folks that think we are crazy...let's talk.
I'm sooooo proud to be an ultrarunner and get to be friends with people like Jamie Donaldson, Monica Scholz and Eberhard Frixe. They are all great athletes and more importantly, wonderful people. Jamie just won the women's race at Badwater again this year, for the 2nd year in a row and is becoming a force in womens ultrarunning. Folks, keep both eyes on Jamie Donaldson.
Another previous winner and world record holder for finishing 23 tough 100 mile runs in a calendar year, Monica "the Ultimate Super Chick" Scholz knocked off another Badwater. How many Badwater's does this make for Monica? Who knows? A bunch ! She always makes running Badwater in 120+ degree heat look like fun.
Let's not forget another multiple-Badwater finisher, my buddy from Germany, Eberhard Frixe. You can always spot Eberhard on the Badwater race course wearing his #66 (wilh a big tongue) shirt and a smile on his face. I met him in 2007 and we've been buddies ever since. He's one tough guy !
Following this years race was a blast ! Thanks to these three for making Badwater a great race to watch. Congratulations again to Jamie, Monica and Eberhard !
